Here are answers to some common questions from my clients.
If your question is not answered, simply contact me.
Questions about the editing process:
Unfortunately not. Publishing is hard and very subjective, but having a well-written manuscript can make things much easier. It is better to submit a well-edited manuscript at first to avoid negative comments from the editor or reviewers on the quality of the language. Avoiding such comments up front can save time in the long run. With our Elite Package, we offer our pre-peer review product, Peer Review Protect, which can help avoid problems during the review process.
Your documents are edited by A. Blake Williams, Ph.D., the chief editor at Bioplicty. We do not outsource editorial work (with the exception of the Supported Editing option), and we work with each client individually to ensure their highest satisfaction. Detailed information about Dr. Williams’ academic and professional history is available here.
Sure. We provide a certificate or letter stating that your manuscript has been edited by a native English speaker. There is no charge for this service.
At this time we don’t edit LaTeX files by default, but please contact us to discuss different options.
We can edit Microsoft Office .doc or .docx files. If these options are not possible for you, please contact us to make other arrangements.
Our editing process is simple and efficient.
1. You fill out the submission form with the requested information and upload your file.
2. We review your submission and send you a price invoice.
3. After editing, your edited manuscript will be returned to you via email.
4. You have a chance to review the edits and comments and provide feedback for additional rounds of editing, depending on which package you selected.
5. Your manuscript is then re-edited to ensure that it is ready for submission.
The final product that you receive is a version of your document with tracked changes and comments that you can be proud to submit.
Questions about timing:
Yes. We can push your manuscript to the front of the line for an extra charge. When you select rush service, we guarantee delivery within 2 business days (Monday through Friday) after we receive your document.
Please select the rush option on the Submission page.
For the Standard and Premium Packages without rush service, we guarantee that you will receive the first version of your manuscript within 4 business days (Monday through Friday) or you receive a 10% discount. For these packages, rush service is available and can be selected on the Submission page. For the Elite Package, we require seven business days due to the time required for the Peer Review Protect report. In many cases we can return the edited manuscript sooner. For the Elite Package, rush service can be added for the manuscript editing, but not for the Peer Review Protect component.
We can normally return a quote within a few hours of your submission during business hours.
If you submit a document during the night, we will send your quote first thing the next morning.
We are based in the Central European Time Zone (Berlin time), so please keep that in mind when waiting for a reply.
Questions about price and payment:
Yes. If your document is over 10,000 words we offer a 10% discount with the Premium and Elite Packages.
Payment is due at the time you receive your price quote. The editing process begins as soon as possible after you submit your document, so please try to make the payment as soon as possible.
I prefer to receive payments by Stripe. Stripe allows simple and secure payments with major credit cards. You will receive an invoice at the submitted email address after your order is reviewed. If you need to pay by a different method, please select that option on the Submission page.
Sure. Please indicate your preferred currency on the Submission page. Paying with different currencies is easy with Stripe, our payment service provider.
Questions about satisfaction:
